“I Want You to Know Me” was conceived in a Los Angeles recording studio, a collaboration between songwriters and producers Ryan O’Reilly, Jadea Kelly, Liam Blomqvist and Anna Vaverková, and was finished, fittingly, in L.A. Recordings in Berlin, Germany. This delicate, ethereal pop-folk song begins in breathy, hushed tones and swells musically and emotionally with O’Reilly and Vaverková’s voices combining beautifully. The lyrics tell a tale of a love lost, “time won’t heal this kind of hurt / I’m not sure I want it to” and the restrained production from Blomqvist allows space for the message of the song and gives due prominence to the vocal performances. This is the first release from L.A. People, a collaborative community built around the recording studio, bringing together artists from Berlin and beyond to create original music.
